Pink Panther Strikes Again

The first thing that came to my head when I read this " Clueseau, you bumbling idiot. You're going to kill me" says his chief inspector.

PezCycling News - What's Cool In Pro Cycling: "Parlez Vous Anglais??
Floyd’s case is certainly giving everyone lots to talk about and many would think legal arguments and expert’s testimony would be what most people would be talking about after a day’s legal arguments, but no. Most people were actually talking about the French interpreter, Pierre Debboudt, of the National Court Reporters. Poor old Mr. Debboudt made a few shocking errors with specifics of the testimony from the French lab’s tester of Floyd’s samples, Cynthia Mongongu which had everyone in the courtroom up in arms about the errors.

Included in Pierre Debboudt’s gaffes were the misinterpretation of 'a day-and-a-half' to be 'an hour-and-a-half.' Obviously quite an error in a case that is dealing very closely with specifics and accuracy would kind of be important in such a case! Mr. Debboudt was subsequently dismissed from his duties and the hearing was adjourned for 45 minutes while a frantic search for a replacement translator commenced.

Over an hour later Martitia Palmer of the Judicial Council of California stepped into the role and correctly translated the testimony relieving everyone in the courtroom! Smooth sailing for the rest of the hearing from here on in? I hope so – j’espere….that’s French for 'I hope so' for any of you budding translators out there who may be looking for a job at the Arbitration Court. Just work on the difference between an hour and a day before applying for the job though - please!"
